What is your core curriculum?
Good Shepherd makes every effort to stay up to date with the latest in curriculum.
Reading: We are excited to offer a state of the art guided reading program for all students in grades K-5. The 2008 Literacy By Design reading program (by Rigby) gives EVERY child success at his/her reading level as it works to broaden thinking skills in all areas. In grades 6-8, our students use a literature based program.
Math: The Singapore Approach to Mathematics is the latest trend in education. Its unique approach to instruction teaches students higher level thinking skills while still stressing the importance of basic facts.
Science: Our 2009 Houghton Mifflin Science curriculum uses a combination of research, demonstration, and hands-on instruction to help students build their inquiry and critical thinking skills.
Social Studies: Good Shepherd has proudly implemented the MacMillan/McGraw Timelinks curriculum to help students understand how our various culture and societies fit together.
Religion: Good Shepherd uses the One In Christ religion curriculum designed by the Lutheran Church, Missouri Synod and published by Concordia Publishing House.
